Aleene, Dinah Shore & Beverly SillsAleene & Dinah Shore  & Beverly Sills (January 1972)

Tiffany's interview notes with Aleene 5-6-09:

Mom recalls that on her first appearance on the Dinah Shore show, there was also a first-time guest for Dinah. His name was Burt Reynolds.

Mom also remembers that Dinah wasn't so interested in the crafts that she demonstrated on air but that Dinah's guests, such as Beverly Sills pictured above, always enjoyed getting in and crafting along with Aleene.

Here's a book cover that Tiffany (and younger brother Tony) modeled for in 1972 featuring Aleene's Sneak Batik:

In 1972, Aleene appeared on Dinah's Place (NBC) making her second appearance.

On this episode, Aleene, Dinah Shore and guest Beverly Sills did a "rollicking demonstration-participation" with LeJeune Tie Dye and Batik.

At the time, LeJeune had recently introduced to the arts and crafts market a complete Fiber and Fabric Dye Center that featured HiDYE, a very high intensity dye for natural fibers that was used for tie dye, batik, sneak batik, silk screening, fabric and textile painting, block printing, etc.

In a Press Release for this television appearance, Aleene goes on to say that "thousands and thousands of viewers were introduced to the new LeJeune product by not only demonstration but by writing in and receiving the FREE INSTRUCTIONS for using the product." Mention was made of the newness of the product and that if it couldn't be found in their local Hobby and Craft stores, to be sure to ask for it as it was just hitting the market.
